Half Blind Dovetail Jig

I recently purchased this jig, and have not had much success. I have set it up to all the correct settings, but still cannot get a good fit. I have tried using pine boards first so as not to waste good stock. With the pine, I cannot get the joints to fit at all. Had some better luck using oak, but still cannot get both sides to fit properly. Any suggestions?
