Set-up Block available below. 2 flute, carbide tipped. Making strong drawers is easy with our Drawer Lock Bit. Rout the drawer front and sides with the bit mounted in a table. Attach sides to front of drawer with perfectly mated, strong glue joints. Minimum stock thickness is 3/8" for drawer sides and 1/2" for drawer front.

Set-up Block available below. 2 flute, carbide tipped. To join materials at 90° by cutting a 45° miter and a perfect matching tongue and groove glue joint. This extremely strong joint not only increases mechanical strength, but also increases glue surface area and automatically aligns parts. Make frames, boxes, right angle and parallel angle joints. LOCK MITER BIT (5/5), Apr 10, 2013

NEVER SAW OR USED A LOCK MITER BIT, BUT IT WAS EASY ONCE THE CONCEPT WAS UNDERSTOOD. WITH SCRAP WOOD OF SAME THICKNESS, ADJUST BIT HEIGHT UNTIL THE TWO BOARDS MATCH PERFECTLY LIKE FLOORING. THEN ADJUST FENCE TO EXPOSE MORE OF THE BIT UNTIL THE BIT JUST KISSES THE TOP OF THE BOARD AS IT IS CUT. AFTER THAT SET UP BLOCKS BEHIND THE FENCE SO YOU CAN ALWAYS RETURN TO THE PERFECT SETTING. PROCUCES GREAT !!! RESULTS.

With the setup block it was not difficult to set up. The resulting miters are very tight. I used on plywood and there was some splintering, but no more than expected. Just took more passes to reduce the splintering.
