Why are Pocket Hole joints so strong? First, the steel Pocket Screw is much stronger than the wood around it. Second, the clamping force exerted by the screw combined with glue makes a very strong joint.
Simply place the workpiece into the Pocket Hole Jig and drill angled holes with the Step Drill Bit and Stop Collar. Apply glue, then align the two workpieces to be joined with the 11" face frame clamp. Drive the Pocket Screws into the pockets, joining the wood.
Zero drying time is required because the self-tapping screws pull the wood together and hold it TIGHT. The joint will be perfectly aligned and secure as the glue dries because the 11" Face Frame Clamp holds work securely. One clamp is all it takes.
You’ll save hours of time by drilling pocket holes in one work piece, instead of milling two work pieces as in dowel, biscuit, dovetail or mortise and tenon joinery. Guides allow perfect spacing (minimum 5/8" and maximum 2-3/8" centered holes). 5 preset positions ensure proper spacing on stock from 1/2" to 1-1/2" thick.
