2 flute carbide tipped with totally enclosed ball bearing guides. Great for making boxes, serving trays, coasters and recessed signs. The TOP MOUNTED BEARING follows your template to produce identical cuts every time. These bits carve out the inside of the work piece, rout a rounded corner and a flat bottom. Use with a plunge router, for best results.

Agree, this product uses a very cheap bearing. Mine fell apart after 3 uses. Now I am trying to find a new bearing. Other than the bearing, it is a good product

The bit works well but the bearing on top ranks right in there with used dog food. It is sealed on both sides but the seals came out after just a few uses, the bearing locked up so I greased it and got it working. Then one seal came out and was chewed up by the bit and the bearing locked up again. The bearing can be replaced but shouldn't have to be especially with very little use.

2 flute, carbide tipped. Will plunge cut. 90° V-Groove bits are used for cutting full 90° V grooves, 45° chamfers or a 45° angle for an accurate mitre. Excellent for sign carving, lettering, grooving, etc. Router bits #5420 and #5422 are perfect for sign carving.

I've been buying these 1/2" 90 degree V groove bit. I spoke to John, the bit tech at MLCS and told him that I would like to see this bit produced by you in a cutting diameter of 7/16". There is no one making a 90 degree 7/16" V groove bit. The same length as the 1/2" V groove bit would be excellent. As I need it to cut about 15/16" deep. Have friends wanting one also. Thank you.

Great bit no buts (5/5), Nov 2, 2016

Have been using these bits for a couple of years now and have not needed to sharpen them yet. I only carve on soft woods like white pine or on cedar. I do have 1 bit that needs to be sharpened after carving on some hard maple, but it was a large sign. I would recommend this bit to anyone wanting to carve signs or artwork into a wood surface.

Several months of use in my small CNC machine and it is still as sharp as when I got it. It is being used on wood, mdf and acrylics. About to order another as a back-up.

it works good at first but then the tip broke off and trying to regrind the tip back on is pretty tough task.

Also, the most likely cause of a tip breaking off is impacting a foreign object in the material being cut.
