With K-Premium Micrograin carbide! Add an attractive and durable edge to your cabinet doors and shelf edges. For use with plywood panels, MDF panels or shelves from 1/2" to 1" thick. Both matched 2 piece sets are two flute carbide tipped. Simply center the male cutter on the stock and make the cut. Next match up the female cutter with the center point of the first cut. Finish by gluing together the two pieces and flush trim the edges, if necessary. The 60° bits feature a tongue & groove for a larger glue surface area and easier alignment of edge banding. Recommended for use in a table mounted router. 1/2" shank.
See MLCS Edge Banding router bits.

I have purchased many MLCS, and Eagle America bits in the past along with other brands, I wanted to try out the Katana bits and this pair seemed like a good choice as I didn’t invest in any other brands for this particular profile along with wanting to quit using the table saw to create spline and grove edge banding.
First after receiving this set I looked at the carbide thickness to my surprise it was pretty thick along with the braised joint between the body and carbide was well done, the grind of surface and relief edge was pretty good with very crisp, sharp edges.
The body has sufficient mass to support the carbide along with helping the bit cut more efficient to absorb vibrations from use in hardwoods, granted I’m using this mainly in my 3-1/2hp router table but I did try this out in a lower 1-1/4hp powered D-handle router, it performed very good but I recommend using 2hp or more router motors.
The bits arrived packed away in a plastic 2 part shipping box(tube) along with the bit dipped in a protective oiled wax compound to further protect the carbide edges, a utility knife will remove it easy enough.
I’d say a ran roughly 160 board feet of hard maple through it and no issues along with the bits retaining the factory ground edges, and a smooth finish with only very light edge fuzzing on plywood edges.
I recommend the Katana line along with MLCS or Eagle America
