Make strong and beautiful joints!

SAVE $10! Improved design now has replaceable inserts! The Spline Sled is designed for table saws to save time and to safely create strong, decorative joints. When making fine furniture, picture frames and boxes, spline joints are one of the most beautiful methods of joinery used in woodworking. You can use contrasting wood tones or various spline thicknesses to create decorative accents. Spline joints are not only attractive but feature extra gluing surfaces compared to a plain joint, making them one of the strongest joints possible.

  • The jig measures 12" W x 24" L and features an embedded t-track with two stop blocks. Use both stop blocks to sandwich and cut splines in narrow projects, one stop block to clamp and index cuts on medium sized projects or remove both stop blocks for larger projects such as boxes.
  • The base of the jig is made from durable 11/16" laminated MDF which creates a smooth, non-marring surface that slides easily across your table saw top.
  • The adjustable 18" miter bar will fit in any standard 3/4" miter slot.
  • Use our Thin Rip Guide (below) to safely cut thin splines with no binding or kickback.

a welcome addition to my workshop (5/5), Aug 29, 2015

By Rick Melpignano (Bellingham MA US)

The home-made spline jig I crafted years ago is not adjustable, so I purchased this adjustable MLCS spline jig. A wise decision. It's very easy to assemble and is solid and safe. But like Mike, I added a 2x4 across the saw cut for added stability and safety. I may even add a second t-track, also. I highly recommend this spline jig.

    An excellent jig (5/5), Apr 15, 2014

By Mike Turner (RENTON WA )

Cutting spline slots into mitered frames is very easy with this jig. I glued and screwed 2x4s on edge across the saw cuts in the base to improve stiffness and provide some extra safety from the blade on the back side. Probably not necessary, but I'm a belt and suspenders type of guy.

MLCS spline Jig Pro (5/5), Feb 11, 2014

    By Pete (W-B PA US)

Pictured and described except, MDF is 3/4" not 1/2" board, which is better yet.Jig is large/heavy enough to be very stable in use.Offers great support for your projects.I'm been thinking of making one of these for a while.By the time you purchase materials/hardware and don't forget the labor,it's most adviseable to buy this one. Also the core is MDF,not particle/melamine board, which I only see.Jig assembled very quickly,it was cut and drilled perfectly.I did not buy the thin rip saw jig,I already have one.

    • Thin Rip Table Saw Guide

    • Reviews
Easily and safely rip thin strips on your tablesaw.

Recommended for use with Zero Clearance Table Inserts! Make repetitive ripping of thin strips safer and easier. Because the strips are cut on the left-hand side of the blade, there is no burning, binding or kickback. Made from heavy-duty aluminum extrusions, the jig locks securely in most 3/4" W x 3/8" H miter gauge slots while a built-in scale helps you make fine adjustments. The ball bearing holds the stock firmly against the fence, allowing for a smooth feed rate and simple fence repositioning.saw. For Craftsman and other undersized miter slots, It may be necessary to "sand down" the side of the miter bar on the Thin Rip Guide for proper fit.
Safety Note: When cutting thin strips on your table saw you must use a Zero Clearance insert (sold separately) to prevent the stock from binding between the blade and factory insert.
